Lexington to hold online jobs seminar March 19 – Burlington Times News

On March 19 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., city officials will host an informational webinar on how to apply for work with the City of Lexington.

The webinar is a partnership between the City of Lexington and the Goodwill of Northwest’s Career Connections Center.

Hosting the event is Lexington’s Senior Human Resources Analyst Felicia King.

“We’re more so just going over our process with coming on as an employee with the city of Lexington,” King said. “We, in the fall, rolled out an online process for people wanting to complete applications online so really this is more so a demonstration of how to use our [online] portal.”

The webinar comes weeks after Lexington commissioners discussed ways to diversify the town’s staff.

Talks to diversity the town’s staff were part of discussions to hire a dedicated diversity and inclusion specialist to oversee the process of hiring more minority staff. While the upcoming webinar is open to everyone interested in working for the town of Lexington groups like the Davidson County NAACP Chapter are promoting it.

Lexington’s jobs portal can be found under the city services administration tab on the town’s official page. According to King, individuals can find detailed instructions on how to apply, as well as a comprehensive list of positions that are available.

Currently, the town has three full-time positions and one part-time position available.

King said the webinar isn’t the only way the town advertises its available jobs.

“We put all of our jobs on the website and we put them on Indeed.com,” King said, adding that individuals can sign up for emails whenever a particular department makes a position available.
